Databricks announced its intent to acquire Panther, an AI-native security operations (SOC) platform, extending the “security lakehouse” category it has been building through earlier acquisitions of Antimatter and SiftD.ai. The move signals that data-platform vendors increasingly see cybersecurity analytics — not just BI and ML — as core lakehouse territory, blurring the line between data infrastructure and security tooling.
What this means for our clients: As data platforms absorb adjacent categories like security, the tool stack our consulting clients need to evaluate keeps expanding. If you are rationalising your own data and analytics stack, our AI consulting practice can help you cut through the noise.
